Authorities Investigate Fatal Stabbing in Ewing Township

Mercer County authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Thursday evening in Ewing Township, according to Janetta D. Marbrey and Al Rhodes.

Officials said members of the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Ewing Police Department responded at approximately 5:20 p.m. on January 8, 2026, to the first block of New Hillcrest Avenue following reports of a male who had been stabbed.
 

Responding officers located an adult male in the roadway suffering from multiple apparent stab wounds to the torso. 

The victim was identified as Jimmy Chase, 40, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
 

Chase was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries Friday morning.
 

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains active and ongoing.
