Suspect Wanted for Punching Victim Inside Rainbow Shops in Newark

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying the suspect, who assaulted a victim on December 20.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. stated the victim was shopping at Rainbow Shops, a clothing store in the 100 block of Market Street, at approximately 5:45 p.m., when two females confronted her about comments on social media.

Moments later, one of the women, who had a red box braided hairstyle, punched the victim in the face several times while the other woman recorded the assault, according to Newark officials.

After the attack, Newark Police said, the suspect and the other woman with her left the store and fled in an unknown direction.
