With Fourth of July around the corner, Union County towns prepare with numerous family-friendly events.

Clark:

Clark will hold their annual fireworks display on July 4th, 9:30 p.m. at Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School located at 365 Westfield Avenue. (Rain date July 5th)

Cranford:

On Saturday, July 4th, the celebration begins with canoe races at 8:00 a.m., Firecracker 4 Miler and 1 Mile Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., rides and games beginning at 2 p.m. and fireworks at 9:15 pm. (Rain date for fireworks only, Sunday, July 5).

Elizabeth:

City of Elizabeth welcomes back its annual waterfront fireworks display. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk at the Veterans Memorial Waterfront Park, located on Front Street and Elizabeth Avenue.

Florham Park:

Florham Park will begin celebration at 9 a.m. with flag raising ceremony at 10:30 a.m., followed by numerous activities that will come to an end at 8:15 p.m. with fireworks.

Kenilworth:

Kenilworth joins forces with Union County as they host ‘Family Fun and Fireworks’ free featuring free entertainment, live music and inflatables for children at Galloping Hill Golf Course on July 5th, starting at 5 p.m.

Maplewood:

Maplewood’s Annual July 4th is the 113th organized by the July Fourth Committee of the Maplewood Civic Association. It is A Full Day of Family Fun, a hometown community experience, featuring an old-fashioned circus and dazzling fireworks.

New Providence:

The New Providence 2015 Independence Day festivities return to the Borough on Friday, July 3, at 7 PM on South Street from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue, and will include fun filled activities for all. DJ John Souren of Club Souren will provide entertainment from his perch on South Street. There will be juggler Will Shaw, “Chalk on South” (kids of all ages can get a free “bucket” of chalk to create art and messages on the street) and lots of fun for the whole family. The fabulous fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 PM. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities.

Plainfield:

Plainfield will host fireworks July 4th at Cedar Brook Park, Park Avenue and Pemberton Avenue.

Rahway:

The city of Rahway is proud to bring back the firework spectacular again this year.  Fireworks may be viewed from Rahway River Park and Madison Avenue Park. They are set to start between 9 – 9:30 p.m. and will last approximately 20-30 minutes.

Roselle Park:

Roselle Park will stage a fireworks display on Friday, July 3, 2015. The fireworks should start at 9:00 p.m at the fields at Roselle Park High School. The fireworks celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with DJ entertainment. Attendees may bring a blanket or lawn chair for fireworks viewing. The rain date is Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Roselle Park High School is located at 185 West Webster Avenue in Roselle Park.

Springfield:

Springfield invites the community to enjoy great music and spectacular fireworks on July 4th at Meisel Avenue Park, Springfield.  Gates open at 5 p.m., concert at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks to follow. ​

Summit:

Summit celebrates the 4th of July with a full day of activities that include a flag raising ceremony, parade, a carnival, a concert and a fireworks display.  The day begins with a flag raising ceremony at 9:45 a.m, and an evening concert by the Cameos at 7:45 p.m. The fireworks display begins at 9:15 p.m. at Soldier’s Memorial Field.

Union Township:

Union Township will celebrate the holiday starting at 10:00 a.m. on July 4 with the 8th Annual All American Soapbox Derby. It will be held on Stuyvesant Avenue between Mountain & Tyler Avenues. Than continue at Biertuempfel Park with the Summer Concert Series starting at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks start at 9:00 p.m.
