It’s a cold and below-freezing start on this final day of 2025, so if you’re heading out early to catch the bus, commute, or get in a morning workout, be sure to layer up; it’s definitely frigid out there.
Good Wednesday morning and Happy New Year’s Eve. It’s 29 degrees at Bridge Street and McCarter Highway in Newark’s North Ward.
We’ve made it to the end of 2025, and while it’s cold, conditions are dry and not as bitter as yesterday, thanks to a lighter wind chill across much of the region.
Temperatures are expected to climb just above freezing later today. If you’re heading out tonight for celebrations or planning to watch the ball drop in New York City, bundle up; it will remain cold into the evening.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a high near 33 degrees and wind-chill values between 15 and 25, with southwest winds around 11–16 mph.
Tonight, light snow is likely after 10 p.m., with temperatures holding near 29 degrees and wind-chill readings in the teens to low 20s. Up to a half-inch of snow may fall.
Have an awesome day and stay warm, New Jersey — and Happy New Year’s Eve!
