Man Arrested in Connection with Paterson Shooting

Authorities in Passaic County announced that, based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department Shooting Investigation Unit, Imran Khan, 40 years old, from Paterson, was arrested on December 29, in connection with the shooting that took place on December 29, in the area of Wayne and Crosby Avenue, Paterson.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes stated that Mr. Khan is charged with Aggravated Assault, second degree, Aggravated Assault, third degree, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second degree, and Hindering Apprehension, third degree.

According to Passaic County officials, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on December 29, 2025, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Wayne Avenue and Crosby Avenue on a report of a shooting.

Police located a 43-year-old female victim suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound, PCPO officials say. The victim was transported via ambulance to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

Police were able to locate a potential crime scene in the area. The subsequent investigation revealed that Mr. Khan was responsible for the shooting, PCPO officials stated. 

Passaic County officials said that on December 29, Mr. Khan was arrested, without incident, by the Paterson Police Department Shooting Investigation Unit in the area of Bergen Street and 12th Avenue, Newark.

The State filed a motion for pretrial detention against Mr. Khan, which will be scheduled before a Superior Court Judge, according to Passaic County officials.
