We’re waking up to another very cold morning across Newark and the North Jersey region, with wind chills dipping into the teens early Wednesday. The good news, a brief warm-up is on the way, helping to break the frigid stretch we’ve been dealing with for about a week.
Good morning, New Jersey.
If you’re up around 4:30 a.m. and heading out the door, you’ll want all the cold-weather gear.
At Newark Penn Station, temperatures are hovering around a freezing 30 degrees, but with the wind, it feels closer to 24, definitely a cold start.
Conditions will gradually improve through the day. While winds will remain gusty, rising temperatures should make it feel noticeably better by the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 45 degrees.
Early wind chill values will range between 15 and 25, with southwest winds at 7 to 13 mph and gusts reaching up to 24 mph.
Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy with a low of 31 degrees. West winds of 5 to 8 mph will become calm after midnight.
