West Orange Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Explicit Images of Minors

A West Orange man pled guilty to a three-count Information based on his online enticement and exploitation of minors, Senior Counsel Philip Lamparello announced.

Federal officials said in a statement that Leigh Singha, 39, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Chief Judge Renée M. Bumb on December 11, 2025, in Camden federal court to a three-count Information charging him with: (1) production of explicit images of minors, and explicit images of minors. 
 

According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:

 

From July 2021 through March 2022, Singha exchanged sexually explicit messages with two minor victims and paid them to create explicit videos and images of themselves to send to Singha over the internet.

 

During that time period, Singha also communicated with an intermediary and paid that intermediary to send explicit videos and images of four additional minor victims.

 

Law enforcement searched and seized Singha’s phone and found nearly 5,000 images and 620 explicit images of minors. 

These materials included depictions of prepubescent minors under 12 years old.

 

The production charge carries a statutory mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment, a statutory maximum sentence of 30 years’ imprisonment, and a statutory maximum fine equal to the greatest of (a) $250,000; (b) twice the gross amount of any pecuniary gain that any persons derived from the offense; or (c) twice the gross amount of any pecuniary loss sustained by any victims of the offense.

The receipt charge carries a statutory mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years’ imprisonment, a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment.
