We’re waking up a little warmer this morning, and without those harsh wind chills, but it’s still very cold across Newark and the North Jersey region.
Good morning, New Jersey. It’s currently 34° in downtown Newark at Market and Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard (Broad Street).
While temperatures will edge up slightly today, keep those layers on. You’ll feel the chill all morning.
Today will actually be the warmest day of the week, believe it or not. Winds will pick up again, but they won’t be as brutal as what we’ve dealt with over the past two days.
Expect a mostly dry start this morning before rain and even some frozen precipitation, moves in later this afternoon.
If you’re heading to the bus stop, bundle up. You’ll still need the full winter gear.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is likely after 1 p.m. with a high near 43. Southwest winds will blow 9 to 13 mph, with gusts up to 29 mph.
There’s a 90% chance of precipitation, with about a tenth to a quarter inch expected.
Tonight, rain will taper off mainly before 7 p.m., with temperatures dropping to around 30.
