Newark officials are advising drivers to expect delays this weekend as several downtown streets will be intermittently closed for a film production scheduled on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. said the closures will take place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and will affect several heavily traveled roads in the city’s downtown corridor.
The following streets will experience periodic shutdowns throughout the day:
• Broad Street between Market Street and Raymond Boulevard
• Academy Street between Halsey Street and Broad Street
• Commerce Street between Mulberry Street and Broad Street
• Clinton Street between Broad Street and Mulberry Street
• Beaver Street between Market Street and Clinton Street
• Commerce Court between Raymond Boulevard and Commerce Street
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time due to expected congestion around the production area.

Director Miranda thanked residents and visitors for their cooperation and reminded the public that anyone with information about criminal activity is urged to contact Newark’s 24-hour Crime Stoppers line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
