We’re waking up to bitterly cold air again this Tuesday morning as Newark starts the day in the low 20s but feels more like the single digits.

If you’re heading out to the bus stop or squeezing in that early gym session, make sure you layer up. It’s freezing across Newark and the entire North Jersey region.

Good morning. It is currently 20 degrees in Newark, but the wind chill is bringing it down to about 11 degrees at University Avenue and Court Street.

Once again, we’re dealing with another brutally cold morning, so be sure to bundle the kids up before they head out, though at 4:30 a.m., you still have some time.

Temperatures are even colder than yesterday at this hour.

Morristown is feeling like 8 degrees, Sussex is down to 6, and Haledon is around 10. It’s a frigid start no matter where you are.

According to the National Weather Service, clouds will increase later today with a high near 32.

Wind chills will stay between 20 and 25 through the afternoon with light winds shifting southerly. Tonight brings mostly cloudy skies and a low around 29.

Dress warm, stay layered, and stay safe out there this morning.
