It is currently 35 degrees in Newark, and depending on where you are across North Jersey, it feels even colder as gusty winds continue to push wind chill values below freezing early Wednesday morning. The cold start isn’t letting up anytime soon, with forecasters warning that an even sharper blast of frigid air is expected to move in from Canada by Thursday.
Good morning, Jersey.
While today begins on a very cold note, meteorologists say this will actually be the best weather of the week.
Winds will ease through the afternoon, and skies will turn sunny, but temperatures will struggle to rebound.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 42 degrees, with northwest winds between 5 and 10 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 28 degrees. Wind chills are expected to dip into the low 20s overnight, with light southwest winds between 3 and 6 mph.
