Trenton Police are investigating the motive behind a shots-fired incident early Sunday that left a home damaged but caused no reported injuries.

Authorities say a ShotSpotter alert was activated around 2:45 a.m. in the area of East State Street and Hampton Avenue, prompting officers to respond to the scene.

When units arrived, they located several shell casings and immediately taped off the area.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood for victims, but no injuries were reported.

Investigators confirmed that a residence in the area was struck by stray bullets, though no one inside or outside the home was harmed.

The shooting remains under active and ongoing investigation, and no arrests have been made as of Sunday morning.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
