Sunshine Returns to Newark as the Week Begins, But Rain looms for Tuesday

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and the North Jersey region are starting the week on a slightly warmer note, setting the stage for what should be a pleasant Monday.

Good morning, NJ!

At 4:30 a.m., it’s a cool 46 degrees at Elizabeth Avenue and Meeker Street in Newark’s South Ward.

Conditions are comfortable, and the day is shaping up to deliver plenty of sunshine after early morning clouds clear out.

A light west breeze will be around, but nothing too strong—just enough to keep that crisp fall feel in the air.

This afternoon is expected to be bright and enjoyable, making today one of the nicer days of the week.

But don’t get too comfortable. Another round of rain is expected to move in on Tuesday and linger into Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service:

Today: Mostly cloudy through mid-morning, then clearing, with a high near 53. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.

Have a great start to your week, NJ!
