Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a noticeably warmer start as we close out the week, though the comfort won’t last long with rain expected to impact part of the weekend.

Good morning, NJ. It’s currently 47 degrees in Newark’s Central Ward under mostly cloudy skies.
After days of sharp cold, today will feel much more pleasant as temperatures climb into the 50s.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: Mostly cloudy, high near 53. Light southwest winds around 5–7 mph.
Tonight: Rain likely after 1 a.m. Cloudy with a low around 45. Chance of precipitation: 70%.
Enjoy the milder weather while it lasts — umbrellas will be a must as we head into the weekend.
