Cold, Quiet Start to Thursday as North Jersey Wakes Up to 40 Degrees

Bundle up, New Jersey. It’s a chilly 40 degrees in Newark and across the North Jersey region as we start this Thursday morning, marking another reminder that coat season has officially arrived.

 

Good morning, NJ and if you’re stepping out early for work, you’ll feel the cold immediately. 
 

Conditions are dry and quiet, a welcome change from Wednesday’s damp start, but temperatures are running low across the state.

In parts of northern New Jersey, including Sparta, Morristown, and Haledon, temperatures are hovering near or below freezing, making it feel even colder.

 

According to the National Weather Service:

 

Today:
Partly sunny, with a high near 48. Light and variable wind.

Tonight:
Increasing clouds, with a low around 39. Calm wind.
