Families in East Orange and across Essex County are invited to learn more about available support services at the upcoming kickoff event for the Kinship Navigator Program.
The event will be held Wednesday, December 10 at 5 p.m. at the East Orange Family Success Center, located at 86 South Harrison Street.
The program is designed for grandparents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, or close family friends who are raising children from birth to age 18—or up to 21 for youth with disabilities.
Eligible families must live in Essex County, meet income guidelines, and be caring for children not currently involved with DCP&P.
Organizers say the event will offer food, fun family activities, and holiday crafts, along with information on how kinship caregivers can receive resources, guidance, and support.
Children’s Aid and Family Services encourages anyone raising a relative’s or friend’s child to attend and learn how the Kinship Navigator Program can assist with day-to-day needs and long-term stability.
For more information or to register, families can scan the QR code on the flyer, call 201-225-8844, or visit cafsnj.org.
