It’s another cold start across Newark and the North Jersey region, but the good news is the fierce winds that made Monday feel frigid are finally easing.

As of 4:30 a.m., temperatures sit around 40 degrees in Downtown Newark, though the wind chill is making it feel closer to 34 degrees.
While conditions are calmer, residents will still need a coat heading out the door or even stepping out later for lunch.
The day, however, is shaping up to be much brighter.
Skies will be mostly sunny, giving the region a break from the blustery conditions that brought gusts up to 40 mph on Monday.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. West winds between 14–17 mph, with gusts up to 34 mph early before gradually diminishing.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 33.

Bundle up this morning, NJ — but enjoy the sunshine and have a great day!
