Good morning and Happy Veterans Day, New Jersey!

It’s a bitterly cold start to the morning as my family and friends across Newark and North Jersey wake up to freezing temperatures and gusty winds, a sharp change from the mild fall weather we’ve enjoyed so far.
At 4:30 a.m., it’s 35 degrees on Market and Monroe Streets in Newark’s Ironbound section, but it feels closer to 29 degrees thanks to the wind chill.
Across the state, the chill is even deeper, 24 degrees in Sussex County, 27 in Morristown, 31 in Metuchen, and 33 in Paterson.
If you’re catching the bus, heading to work, or attending a Veterans Day ceremony, you’ll need your winter coat, hat, and gloves.
It’s going to feel like a true November morning.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: A slight chance of snow showers between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42.
Wind chills between 20 and 30 degrees. Breezy, with west winds 13 to 21 mph and gusts up to 40 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34.
Stay warm and take a moment today to honor our veterans across New Jersey.
