Authorities in Newark are searching for suspects involved in a shots-fired incident that occurred early Sunday morning in the city’s North Ward.
According to preliminary reports, police received a ShotSpotter alert just before 12:20 a.m. in the area of Riverside Court and Grafton Avenue, near a local housing development.
When officers arrived, they found several shell casings at the scene, confirming that gunfire had occurred.
A thorough search of the neighborhood did not locate any victims, and no injuries were immediately reported.
The suspects fled the area before police arrived and remain at large.
The investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident is active and ongoing.
