Knife-Wielding Suspects Steal $250, Car Keys From Victim in Newark

A late-night walk turned terrifying for two people in Newark after they were confronted by three armed men near Clifton Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the victims, a man and a woman, were heading toward their vehicle around 11:20 p.m. when three suspects approached them. 

The men demanded the male victim’s belongings at gunpoint while one of them held a knife to his chest.

The suspects took the man’s car keys and $250 in cash before running off in different directions, one west on Bloomfield Avenue, another east, and the third south on Clifton Avenue.

 

Police have released images of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
