Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged a 61-year-old male in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Jersey City on Friday, October 25.

Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello stated that Roberto Camacho, of Jersey City, is charged with Murder, Felony Murder (during the commission of a robbery), and Robbery.
He was arrested at the Hudson County Correctional Facility on Tuesday, October 28, where he has been detained since the crime occurred, HCPO officials say.
Shortly after 12:20 p.m., Hudson County officials said that on Friday, October 25, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a stabbing in the area of Jersey Avenue, 1st Street, and Maxwell Street.
Responding officers located an injured male – later identified as Joan Segovia, 26 – with an apparent stab wound to the abdomen, according to Hudson County officials.
HCPO officials stated that he was transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just after 1 p.m.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be a Stab Wound to the Chest and the Manner to be Homicide, HCPO officials say.
