Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago stated that Demauriea A. Gray, 30, was charged with one count of first-degree Robbery.

According to Monmouth County officials, on Monday, October 27, at approximately 2:50 p.m., officers from the Bradley Beach Police Department responded to the Chase Bank on Main Street for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials learned that an adult male had entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money, MCPO officials say.

The male left with over $10,000 in cash as he fled the scene, MCPO officials said.

Monmouth County officials stated that, due to the swift actions of the bank staff, an investigation was launched involving members of the Bradley Beach and Avon-by-the-Sea Police Departments, the MCPO Major Crimes Bureau, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation – Red Bank Office, which resulted in Gray's identification as the suspect.

Gray was apprehended a short time later by members of the Bradley Beach and Avon-by-the-Sea Police Departments without incident, Monmouth County authorities say.
