Police in Harrison issued a be on the lookout for a black Dodge Durango linked to an attempted catalytic converter theft in town overnight.
At around 2 a.m., officers were notified of a suspicious dark-colored vehicle near the local middle school, where individuals were reportedly attempting to burglarize cars.
Responding officers identified the Dodge Durango and immediately issued a BOLO alert to nearby departments.
Soon after, area police units spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over.
However, the driver refused to stop, ignoring emergency lights and sirens before speeding away.
The pursuit was broken off in Newarkâs North Ward, near Graftono Avenue and Broadway, where the vehicle was last seen.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Harrison Police.
