Essex Urban League’s Tech House Offers Free Classes in Navigating AI

As artificial intelligence and digital tools rapidly transform workplaces and communities, the Urban League of Essex County is stepping up to ensure local residents have the skills they need to succeed.

Through its Tech House initiative, the organization is now offering free digital literacy classes designed to help people of all ages strengthen their computer and technology knowledge.

 

“With the explosion of AI, becoming computer and digitally literate is more important than ever,” the Urban League said in announcing the new program.

What participants will learn

The classes provide a wide range of practical training, including:

 

Digital media and creativity

Career exploration in technology

Digital communication and collaboration

Cybersecurity essentials

Learning strategies for lifelong success

Internet basics and productivity tools

Digital citizenship

Basic computer skills

Guidance on using ChatGPT and other large language models effectively Free access, easy to register
 

The program is open to the community at no cost.
 

Sessions are held at the Urban League Tech House, 152 Littleton Avenue, Newark.
