According to a statement released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the recall affects 5.5-ounce “Deli Express BBQ Pulled Pork on a Sesame Bun” sandwiches, which were produced between January 13, 2025, and October 15, 2025.

The recalled products carry the establishment number “EST. 2451” within the USDA inspection mark and were distributed to retail outlets across the United States, including military facilities.

The issue came to light after consumers filed complaints about discovering pieces of plastic in the sandwiches.

An internal review by E.A. Sween Company linked the contamination to plastic fragments originating from barbecue sauce bottles used during the production process.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported at this time, but officials advise that anyone who may have been injured after consuming the product should contact a healthcare provider.
