Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and much of North Jersey are waking up to slightly warmer conditions this Wednesday morning after overnight rain moved through the area.

As of early morning, it was 57 degrees and damp outside Newark Penn Station.

Roads remain slick from the overnight showers, so commuters are urged to drive carefully.

A small patch of light rain is moving in from the west but is expected to clear out before 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, skies will turn mostly sunny through the day, with a high near 64 degrees. West winds between 7 and 14 mph could gust up to 25 mph.

Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 46 degrees, setting up for a cool and comfortable evening across the region.

After a wet start, residents can look forward to a bright and breezy fall day ahead.
