NJ Crash Under Investigation That Killed One, Injured Another

Authorities in Somerset County announced that an ongoing investigation into a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred in Franklin Township.

Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald stated that on Sunday, October 19, at approximately 7:43 a.m., the Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two-vehicle crash on Easton Avenue near Cedar Grove Lane.

Police officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, SCPO officials say.

According to Somerset County officials, the driver and sole occupant of a 2019 white Honda Civic, a 51-year-old Somerset resident, was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The driver and sole occupant of the 2023 gray Toyota Tundra, a 37-year-old Piscataway resident, was uninjured, Somerset County officials said. 

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
