North Jersey residents are waking up to brisk fall temperatures this Thursday morning, with chilly air settling across the region before a sunny and comfortable day ahead.

As of 4:30 a.m., it was 51 degrees in downtown Newark, where cool breezes and clear skies greeted early commuters.
In other parts of North Jersey, including Morristown, Haledon, and Sparta, temperatures dipped even lower, reaching the low to mid-40s.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 60 degrees.
North winds of 8 to 14 mph could bring occasional gusts up to 26 mph, keeping that crisp fall feeling in the air.
Tonight will be clear with a low around 43 degrees.

After a cold start, forecasters say the day will warm up nicely, a classic, comfortable fall day across the Garden State.
