The Urban League of Essex County is inviting local residents to take part in a new community canvassing initiative aimed at increasing voter engagement and strengthening neighborhood connections.

Participants in the program will earn $15 per hour while receiving training on how to engage meaningfully with residents, have impactful conversations, and encourage voter participation.
No prior experience is required.
Mandatory training sessions will be held at the Urban League Tech House, 152 Littleton Avenue, Newark, NJ, where volunteers will learn practical skills for canvassing and community outreach.

“This program is about more than knocking on doors—it’s about amplifying every voice and making sure every vote counts,” organizers said.
Community members interested in joining can register by scanning the QR code provided by the Urban League or by visiting bit.ly/3VQYfaH.
For more information, residents may call (862) 763-2979.

The effort reflects the Urban League’s long-standing mission to empower communities, promote civic engagement, and support residents in becoming active participants in the democratic process.
