A devastating crash in Cranford claimed the lives of two juveniles on Monday evening after they were struck while riding an electric bike, according to a statement released by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities said that at approximately 5:26 p.m. on September 29, 2025, Cranford Police officers were dispatched to Burnside Avenue following reports of a serious motor vehicle incident.
Upon arrival, officers found two young victims with severe injuries. Both were rushed to nearby hospitals but were tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the vehicle alleged to be involved in the collision was later located and taken into custody by responding officers from both Cranford and Garwood Police Departments.
Officials have not released the driver’s identity or any details regarding possible charges as the investigation remains active.
“This remains an open and ongoing investigation,” the Union County Prosecutor’s Office stated, while urging anyone with information to come forward.
