It’s a crisp and refreshing start to the weekend across Newark and much of North Jersey, with early risers stepping into weather that truly feels like fall.
At 62 degrees along South Orange Avenue and Bergen Street in Newark’s Central Ward, many residents will likely need a light jacket to start the day, as a cool breeze makes it feel even chillier.
The contrast from Friday morning is noticeable, and it sets the tone for a quieter, more autumn-like Saturday.
Winds are adding to the cool feel, but conditions remain pleasant enough for outdoor plans, whether grabbing an early coffee, heading to the farmer’s market, or planning a lunch outdoors later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 74, with an east wind around 9 mph.
Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with a low around 56.

With fall officially in the air and the final weekend of summer underway, I encourage North Jersey residents to get outside and enjoy the comfortable, seasonal conditions.
