A Camden County jury has convicted a Voorhees Township man of murdering his wife in 2021, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Voorhees Township Police Chief Louis Bordi announced.

Shawn Lichtfuss, 53, was found guilty on September 18, 2025, of first-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Stefanie Caraway.
The verdict came after a six-day trial in Camden County Superior Court, where jurors deliberated for less than an hour before reaching their decision.
Authorities said the case began on August 3, 2021, when Voorhees police were called to Lichtfuss’s Lincoln Drive home for a wellness check after a friend received troubling text messages from him.
Officers entered the residence and found Caraway dead in a bedroom. Lichtfuss was not at the scene.
Later that day, investigators located Lichtfuss at a local gas station and took him into custody.
During questioning, he admitted to placing his wife in a chokehold.
The Camden County Medical Examiner determined Caraway’s cause of death was neck compression, ruling the case a homicide.

The trial was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Anna Trenga of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit.
A sentencing date has not yet been set.
