Authorities are searching for suspects connected to a shots-fired incident that shook a Paterson neighborhood early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary information, a ShotSpotter device detected approximately seven rounds of gunfire in the 100 block of 22nd Street shortly before 12:40 a.m.
Multiple police units responded to the alert and secured the area upon arrival.
Officers recovered several shell casings at the scene, but after conducting a thorough search of the surrounding community, no victims were located.
Investigators say the suspects fled before police arrived and remain at large.
At this time, it is not clear who the gunfire was directed at or what sparked the incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
