Residents across Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to brisk temperatures and a hint of early fall in the air.
As of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, it was a cool 64 degrees in Newark, offering a refreshing start for commuters heading out the door.
According to a statement released by the National Weather Service, the day will feature mostly cloudy skies with a high near 76 degrees.
Winds will pick up slightly, coming from the east at 6 to 11 mph, with gusts reaching up to 22 mph.
While the region may see some isolated showers, particularly in northern parts of the state, forecasters say the day should not be a washout.
Most communities will stay dry, and the showers are expected to be the exception rather than the rule.
Sunshine may peek through the clouds at times, providing a pleasant mix of sun and shade for those spending time outdoors.
Looking ahead to the evening, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 11 p.m. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a low around 61 degrees.

As the week continues, residents are encouraged to keep a light jacket handy for the cooler mornings and stay updated on any developing weather conditions.
Have a great Tuesday, New Jersey!
