Authorities in Newark are investigating a two-vehicle collision that left at least one person injured in the city’s South Ward on Friday night.

Emergency responders rushed to Elizabeth Avenue near Weequahic Park at approximately 8:25 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a serious crash involving injuries.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered two vehicles involved in a collision, one of which had overturned due to the impact.
Initial assessments revealed that at least one person sustained injuries, but fortunately, no severe or life-threatening injuries were immediately reported, officials said.
Police closed off parts of the roadway as they worked to clear the scene and conduct a preliminary investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation, and no further details about the individuals involved have been released at this time.
Drivers were urged to use caution in the area and expect residual delays Friday night.
