Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying the female suspect, who robbed a victim of $200 on September 2.
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., stated that police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 12:07 p.m. in the 80 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
The victim, a male, was walking south when the suspect, who was across the street, asked for $2, Newark officials say.
After ignoring her request, Newark officials said, the suspect crossed the street and again asked the victim for the money.

According to Newark officials, the victim gave the suspect $2, but she wasn’t satisfied with that amount after seeing $200 that he accidentally took out of his pocket.
With a sharp object, she poked the victim’s hand, forcefully took the money, and walked away toward Astor Street, Newark authorities say.
He tried to get his money back, arguing with the suspect after he caught up to her, Newark officials stated. She refused and left, getting into a silver two-door vehicle that drove away.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
