Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 40-year-old man dead in Trenton on Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the area of Jeanette Street and Calhoun Street shortly after 2:10 p.m. for reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where doctors attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Investigators from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office have not yet released the man’s identity, and no arrests have been reported.
The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and the case is being treated as an active and ongoing investigation.
