Smith IMAGE: NewsCopter 7 Commuters on Route 3 East in Passaic County will face significant delays this morning after an early crash involving an overturned truck scattered debris across the roadway near the Main Avenue exit in Clifton. The incident occurred around 5:25 a.m., activating a significant response from local emergency crews. As of now, it remains unclear whether any injuries were sustained in the crash. Authorities have not released information about the truck’s cargo, but the spill appears to be gravel and has made the area hazardous for drivers. Clifton Police have requested that New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) crews be dispatched to the scene for cleanup and traffic management. In the meantime, eastbound lanes of Route 3 near Main Avenue are being shut down, causing substantial backups on the highway, a significant corridor for drivers heading toward the Lincoln Tunnel and New York City.
