Succasunna resident Lisa Johnson has been recognized by NJ Sharing Network with its prestigious Sunflower Award for her exceptional dedication to advancing organ and tissue donation efforts in New Jersey.

According to a statement released by NJ Sharing Network, Johnson, who works at the Atlantic Health headquarters, has played a vital role behind the scenes in supporting the nonprofit’s lifesaving mission.

Her thoughtful assistance and commitment underscored how every role, whether public-facing or not, can make a meaningful impact.

During a recent visit to the organization’s headquarters, Johnson was surprised with the award and expressed heartfelt gratitude.

She said the experience gave her a deeper appreciation for the work being done to save and enhance lives across the state.

“I am truly honored to receive this recognition,” Johnson said. “Visiting NJ Sharing Network’s headquarters was an eye-opening experience.

It gave me a much deeper understanding of the powerful, compassionate work being done to save and enhance lives through organ and tissue donation. We can all have a real impact on this mission of hope and healing.”

Johnson’s compassion and commitment made her stand out among the many supporters of the cause.

The need for organ donors remains urgent. The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) reports that more than 100,000 Americans,  including nearly 4,000 New Jersey residents,  are currently awaiting lifesaving transplants.

One donor can save up to eight lives and improve the lives of more than 75 others.

NJ Sharing Network continues to encourage residents to learn more and consider registering as organ and tissue donors. Additional information can be found at www.NJSharingNetwork.org.
