Authorities in Atlantic County announced that Gary Battisti, 71, from Egg Harbor Township, was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide based on his involvement in a motor vehicle crash in May of this year.
Atlantic County officials said that on May 17, at approximately 2:20 p.m., Battisti was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Delaware Avenue in Egg Harbor Township.
Battisti’s vehicle struck a pedestrian, ACPO officials say.
ACPO officials stated the pedestrian, M.M. (13 y/o male from Pleasantville), was pronounced deceased at the hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained.
Subsequent investigation revealed Battisti was traveling at an excessive speed at the time of the crash, Atlantic County authorities said.
