Police in Sussex County closed a portion of Route 23 Saturday night to investigate a serious motorcycle crash that left one person critically injured.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near High Point State Park in the 1400 block of NJ-23.
According to preliminary reports, emergency responders arrived on the scene to find a motorcyclist unconscious and unresponsive after being ejected from the bike.
First responders administered life-saving CPR before the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The condition of the injured rider has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the crash, and an active and ongoing investigation is underway to determine what led to the violent wreck.
Police closed part of NJ-23 for several hours while conducting the on-site investigation and processing the scene.
Officials have not reported any other vehicles involved at this time.
