NJ Man Arrested Following Drug Investigation

Authorities in Somerset County announced the arrest of Pablo Hernandez-Garcia, 38, of Dunellen.

Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald stated that on August 13, 2025, at approximately 6:20 p.m., members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force along with members of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police Drug and Weapons Trafficking Central Unit were concluding a three-month narcotic investigation at a residence located on North Avenue in Dunellen.

This investigation led to the execution of a Superior Court search warrant at the residence of defendant Pablo Hernandez-Garcia, which was executed by the Middlesex County Special Operations Response Team (SORT) as well as investigators assigned to the investigation, SCPO officials say. 

According to Somerset County officials, as a result of this investigation, an FN Herstal handgun, including a high-capacity magazine and hollow-point ammunition, was seized.

This handgun with a matching serial number was reported stolen in 2020 in the state of Louisiana, according to Somerset County officials. 

In addition, approximately 723 grams of suspected heroin, approximately 385 grams of suspected cocaine, and various manufacturing and packaging materials were also seized, SCPO authorities stated. 

Somerset County officials stated that the firearms and narcotics recovered hold an estimated street value of approximately $223,350.00 in U.S. currency.

Defendant Pablo Hernandez-Garcia was arrested and charged with the following:


· 1st degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin (over 5 ounces)

· 1st degree Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine (over 5 ounces)

· 1st degree Maintaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance Production Facility

· 2nd degree Possession of a Firearm While Committing a Narcotics Offense

· 2nd degree Certain Persons Not to Possess a Firearm

· 3rd degree Possession of Heroin

· 3rd Degree Possession of Cocaine

· 3rd degree Receiving Stolen Property

· 4th degree Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Magazine

· 4th degree Possession of Hollow Point Ammunition

Defendant Pablo Hernandez-Garcia was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing on this matter, SCPO officials said.
