Authorities in Passaic County are actively searching for a suspect involved in a violent armed robbery that occurred in Hawthorne on Wednesday evening.
Police responded to a residence on Washington Avenue after receiving reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim, who reported being physically attacked and robbed of their cell phone and purse during the assault.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle believed to be a Chevrolet Malibu.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the altercation.
Investigators have not released further details about the suspect or the vehicle’s license plate and are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation remains active.
