Bergen County authorities are investigating an attempted catalytic converter theft that led to a police pursuit early Sunday morning.
According to initial reports, officers were alerted to suspicious activity near Cliff Street and 5th Street just before 2:20 a.m.
When police arrived, they observed a vehicle believed to be a white Acura TLX linked to the incident.
Officers attempted to pull the driver over, but the suspect sped away, heading into Fort Lee.
Police there also attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued onto the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike.
The pursuit was eventually terminated, and New Jersey State Police were notified.
The investigation remains active as authorities search for the suspects involved.
