Child Killed, Mother and Siblings Injured After Being Struck by Car in Oakland

A pedestrian crash in Bergen County has left a 4-year-old boy dead and a mother and her two other children injured, officials confirmed Thursday.

The incident occurred around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of East Oak Street and Ramapo Valley Road. 

 

According to preliminary findings, the family was crossing the street when they were struck by a vehicle that was turning into the intersection. 

 

Initial reports indicated the driver may have failed to yield to the pedestrians.

 

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said the driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. 

 

Authorities have not released the identities of the victims or the driver.
