New Jersey State Police are investigating a serious crash that left at least one person severely injured on Interstate 80 in Passaic County early Sunday morning.The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near the Route 20 exit in Paterson.
Troopers responded to reports of a collision and arrived to find three vehicles involved, with two sustaining heavy damage.
Emergency responders at the scene administered CPR to one individual who suffered life-threatening injuries.
That person was rushed to an area hospital for further treatment.
State Police closed all eastbound lanes for several hours to conduct a full crash investigation. The exact cause of the collision remains under review.
