Residents in Newark and across the North Jersey region are waking up to a refreshing and comfortable Sunday morning, with cool breezes.

As of 6:30 a.m., temperatures were sitting at 73 degrees near South Orange Avenue and Sanford Avenue in Newark’s West Ward, with westerly winds at eight mph bringing a pleasant start to the day for early risers heading to religious services or getting in their morning workouts.

According to the National Weather Service, the calm and comfortable conditions will hold through the morning hours, but humidity will begin to rise before noon, making it feel a bit stickier by midday.

Forecast:

Today: Patchy drizzle and fog between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., then becoming mostly sunny with a high near 85.

Tonight: Patchy drizzle and fog after 1 a.m. with increasing clouds and a low around 73.

Enjoy your Sunday, New Jersey.
