NJ Man Charged with Possessing Explicit Materials Involving Minors

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Thursday, July 10, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a Bayonne man following a child sexual abuse material investigation.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated that Jonathan Chevere, 24, is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Possession of Explicit Materials Involving Minors), a crime of the third degree. 

He was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance, HCPO officials say.

Between July 2024 and November 2024, according to Hudson County officials, the Hudson County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received multiple tips that Explicit Materials Involving Minors were being stored on social media platforms.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Chevere utilized these accounts, and over 250 files containing Explicit Materials Involving Minors were recovered, Hudson County authorities said.
