Morris County officials have announced that essential repair work on Bridge No. 14C4237, which carries the Dover & Rockaway River Railroad over Berkshire Valley Road in Roxbury Township, is scheduled to begin Monday, July 14.

According to a statement released by county officials, construction will take place during normal business hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The project is expected to last approximately three weeks, depending on weather conditions.
To maintain traffic flow during the repairs, temporary traffic signals have been installed to manage alternating one-lane traffic through the work zone.
The bridge is a single-span structure featuring riveted steel-through girders, open timber tie decking, floor beams, and steel stringers.
Repair efforts will concentrate on reinforcing the structural connections between the floor beams and girders using steel angles.
The timeline for construction may shift due to weather or unforeseen factors, and drivers are advised to consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
Sparwick Contracting Inc., based in Lafayette, N.J., has been contracted to complete the work. The project is fully funded by Morris County and valued at $153,401.
