Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in identifying the suspect who broke into several cars on July 2.

One of the victims parked his vehicle at approximately 8 p.m. in the 400 block of Market Street on July 1, according to Newark officials.
Newark Police stated that when he returned the next day at 8 a.m., the front passenger window of his vehicle was shattered, and his wallet containing personal belongings was missing from the glove compartment.

During the investigation, the suspect was seen exiting a Honda Accord, then taking items from inside several other vehicles after he broke their car windows between midnight and 2 a.m., Newark officials say.
Newark officials said the suspect, described as a Black male, is approximately 5’9” with a medium build.

Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
